Woodland Wedding
Client: Earl St Aldwyns
Location: Coln St Aldwyns
We went to the very beautiful Coln St Aldwyns to meet the couple for a tasting and to find out more about their wedding day.
With the daughter of an Earl and the charming Brazilian groom, Dom was briefed with a very specific brief. The groom was also a dab hand at making cocktails so the bar was set high for our standards to reach.
First drink asked to make for them, a caipirinha (the national Brazilian cocktail), the pressure was on!. Dom served the classic and the groom was happy. Phew!. We talked through a potential menu and for a wedding with 200 guests a fast service was high on the list of priorities. A menu was picked with a great mix of drinks.
The couple were so keen to taste our cocktails again before the big day so booked us for a masterclass a few weeks before the wedding.
Our team arrived and helped the catering team with the champagne reception. We then set out to set up up the fantastic woodland themed circular bar (which was installed a couple of days before) for service. Once the guests had finished dinner, guests approached with one drink in mind, Espresso Martinis!. This are a sure fire way to get the party started. Guests sipped these while watching the fireworks to music. Guests then moved back into the marquee and watched and danced to a live Brazilian band, we even had one guest standing on the bar dancing. This was the point we knew we were in for a lively night. We muddled, shook and mixed the night away until the small hours of the morning. The bride & groom along with guests danced until the bitter end until their glamping teepees called.
Dom went along on Sunday to be on hand with bloody marys and Pimms to aid the hangovers and listen to stories of the night before, apparently there was quite a few.
A day that will be remembered for all the right reasons. The clients were extremely happy and the Earl himself is now a caipirinha convert.
